3rd Day
So today is a classic third day. Laura has gotten out of bed, walked across the room then partway down the hall. She ate a few bites then after some pain medicine is napping. She gets to sleep about 30 minutes then starts all over again. She must do it a total of three rounds today, with each one adding more distance. There have been a moment or two of small smiles. She really is doing fantastic. More to come later. Melissa

Hi Laura,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that you are up walking (of course this is a comment from a Physical Therapist). Are you walking with the nurses or a therapist? We are sending you lots of happy thoughts and prayers. Obi is doing well and cannot wait to see you soon. We love you so very much and are very proud of you. Love, Abigail, Katarina and Miss Lorraine xoxoxoxox
Way to go Laura!! When they replaced my hip, they told me I had to walk 3,000 feet before they would let me go home so I walked up and down the halls. It gets easier the more you do it. A side benefit is that after a whole day of walking, I was exhausted at night and didn't need as much pain meds. Hang in there, you're almost home. Debra, Zoe and Maya
ReplyDeleteYou rock Laura! We're all thinking about you and praying that you recover from this as quickly and as smoothly as possible.
