Thursday - Big day at Shriners

These pictures say most of the story! Laura up and painting a birdhouse is a big deal. She had a good day, all day. She is handling herself beautifully and is determined to get better, quicker. Check out the two surprise visitors she had today. Jamie and Amanda made the day even more special. Bright shining faces made Laura's day extra, extra special

NOW, the real big news is the after x-ray taken today! Compare and contrast to the "before" image. Enough said! Laura did dream she had a railroad track down her back . . .

We have tentative plans to return home tomorrow pending weather reports and final exams.

  5. I'm so glad to see that you're up and seeing friends! You are so strong and positive through all of this!

Just in case you need to see some really, really cute Otter pictures, you can see a new one every day here: http://dailyotter.org/. (I keep trying to convince Jason to build an Otter Pond in the backyard, but he's not nearly as excited about it as I am...)

I hope all goes well today so you can return home. :)

  7. Wow! What a contraption you have down your back! Looks like that ought to do the trick. Just amazing!

And how nice to see you with your surprise guests! I did hear a report from Debra Meade about that visit. Sure do wish I could go see you, but for now, I'll just keep reading these reports.

    Best wishes, sweet young lady!

  9. Laura, I was unable to see the pictures of you walking the hall yesterday but can see them today. My though was "Wow! You are as tall as your mom!!!" Then I saw today's picture of you up painting the bird house and my first thoughts were that your smile is back and you have your beautiful color back in your cheeks! You are doing amazingly well girl! I hope you can get back home soon. I know that will help you so much!

  10. Laura, I know you're almost here!! It's 10 till 5. The girls were so excited to here you were on the way!! Maya was trying to get out of her blanket she was so excited. The only problem was that she had put her head and one foot thru a hole in her blanket and the rest of her body was hard to get thru. Zoe just stood and watched. Maya was hilarious!! Can't wait to have you home. I know that Obie is probably sitting on heating vents again today. It's sooooo cold. We'll keep you warm once you get here.

    Love,
    Debra, Zoe and Maya
